General Forum Rules:

Godmodding:

Behaving in an unrealistic manner of doing things your character wouldn't realistically be able to do is called Godmodding. Plausability must always be respected on N:BW, and attempting to play god is very much frowned upon. Respect other players and don't try to overpower them with unrealistic writing or implausible actions. The way to win is by outsmarting your opponent, not by thinking up crackpot schemes.

Of course this is subjective. If you feel your opponent is godmodding then leave them a friendly OOC (out of character) message saying that you think what they've done was a bit unfair. If they agree then all well and good. If not let them justify themselves, and if you can't come to an agreement then ask for a moderator to intervene and rule on the situation. Involving a moderator should be a last resort, and excessive OOC bickering is frowned upon. Please keep it friendly at all times!

Do not argue with the moderators. They are giving up their time for you and should be treated with respect. If you think the moderator's decision is wrong or unfair then you can take the matter to an Admin. Only do this as a last resort. People who regularly submit appeals that are not upheld will not find themselves popular with the staff and other roleplayers

A matter related to, but not always the same as, godmodding is Powerplay. From time to time on N:BW we get new members, usually young and immature, who are obsessed with becoming powerful. That isn't what DBF is about. First and foremost DBF is about roleplay, not winning, loosing or acquiring Stats and power. These players usually try to get the most powerful equipment they can, godmod regularly and battle simply to gain Stats rather than for story. Please please don't be one of these. It won't make you popular with the staff or members.

It is forbidden to control another player's character without their permission or to post an action and it's result in the same post. You must give your opponent a chance to respond.

Of course this can be rather jarring in battle posts. It would be foolish to have to wait for your opponent to respond to every punch and kick, so for the sake of prose you can write landing punches etc, but please be sensible. Look at your Stats compared to that of your opponent. If they are relatively close post a close battle. If you look as though you are going to lose then post a tough battle on your part.

Behavior on N:BW:

Please be respectful to your fellow Rp'ers. Do not insult or intentionally aggravate, treat others as you would wish to be treated! Under no circumstances will we tolerate any kind of discriminating behaviour, if you do not agree with someone's life style choices or religious beliefs that is your own problem and we will come down swift and hard on anyone who breaches this rule.

Swearing:

We are a fairly liberal forum on this point however because you can do it doesn't mean you need to have every second word in a post as a swear word. If it fits the story or situation feel free. OOC it is recommended that you don't swear as it may offend even though it wasn't your intention to do so.

Character Killing Rule:

You CAN be killed on N:BW. If you lose a fight, fairly, your opponent has the discretion to take your life. This is the way the game is played, don't like it, don't join.

Number of Roleplays you can be in at any one time:

Three roleplays as well as any amount of training threads within the Proving Grounds. Plotline RP's are excluded from this total.
